Today's Book of the Day!

Today's Book of the Day is the simply lovely Firefly Hollow.

Written by Alison McGhee and illustrated by Christopher Denise, this sweet story of 4 little friends with big dreams is a joy and reminded me very much of another favorite. Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH. A soon to be classic, I am certain.

Book of the Day is Back!

We have been on a bit of a hiatus, mostly recovering from our busy summer programs!

Today's book of the day is Make For Ducklings written and illustrated by Robert McCloskey and published on this day in 1941. It won the Caldecott Medal in 1942 and is the official children's book of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. A classic!

Today's Book of the Day is the Story of the Statue of Liberty by Betsy and Giulio Maestro.

The cornerstone for the great lady was laid on what is now Liberty Island on this day in 1884.

Today's Book of the Day!

Today's book is Are you Ready to Play Outside? by Mo Willems.

After all this rain, Gerald, Piggie and all the rest of us are more than ready for some outdoor fun. Between library programs of course!
